Carlton Bolling was lit up in spectacular fashion as a stunning digital artwork created by our talented students was projected onto the sports centre. The animation, titled The Avocado Chase, was brought to life by a group of 13- and 14-year-olds in collaboration with renowned digital artists Virpi Kettu and Paul Miller.
This incredible project was part of Bradford Digital Creatives, an initiative that empowers young people to share their stories through digital art. Supported by Bradford 2025, Born in Bradford, Bradford Council, and Arts Council England, the project is delivered by Born in Bradford and the National Science and Media Museum as part of the Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture programme.
Ten of our students worked tirelessly to plan and storyboard the animation, sculpt intricate clay characters, direct and film the stop-motion sequences, and design the projection mapping onto the school building – all with the guidance of professional artists. Their dedication culminated in a fantastic celebration event, where peers, families, and teachers gathered to watch their hard work come to life on the big screen.
Deputy Headteacher Lindsay Wilson reflected on the event, saying:
“The students’ hard work over the last month was rewarded with a very special evening at the school with their families and friends. The smiles on the faces of the students and parents said it all – it was a wonderful celebration of outstanding work.”

That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.
