Creating a Cleaner, Greener Carlton Bolling

Carlton Bolling Sustainability Commitment

At Carlton Bolling, our sustainability approach focuses on reducing our school’s environmental impact through education, action, and community involvement. We are committed to promoting whole-school, eco-friendly practices such as recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction, and enhancing our green spaces. Sustainability is being integrated into the curriculum to raise awareness and empower students to become responsible global citizens. Additionally, we work in partnership with local and national organisations to support green initiatives and continuously evaluate our practices to ensure long-term environmental responsibility.

Our school is proud to be working towards Eco-Schools Green Flag accreditation, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and environmental education. Students play an integral role in shaping our sustainability values and inspiring positive environmental action.

Climate Action Plan

Carlton Bolling Climate Action Plan

In line with Department for Education (DfE) requirements, Carlton Bolling has been developing a Climate Action Plan supported by Let’s Go Zero climate advisors. This plan, alongside our student-led five-year sustainability strategy, will form the foundation of a comprehensive, school-wide policy. The plan aligns with the DfE’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, which focuses on four key pillars:

  1. Adaptation & Resilience – Preparing our school environment for climate impacts.
  2. Biodiversity & Nature – Expanding green spaces and joining the National Education Nature Park.
  3. Climate Education & Green Skills – Embedding climate literacy and green careers into the curriculum.
  4. Decarbonisation & Net Zero – Reducing energy use and working towards net-zero emissions.

Hey there, couldn’t help noticing you’re using Internet Explorer

That’s great and all, and we commend you for pushing through with it. Unfortunately we no longer offer support for IE; it hasn’t received a major update since 2015 and Microsoft are dropping support for it later in the year.

If you’re using Windows 10 and want to stick with a built in browser, please consider switching to Edge. Or, if you really want to enjoy the internet properly we strongly recommend downloading Google Chrome here.
